“If elected, I promise to support safe, clean, livable neighborhoods. Just as I have on the Poudre School District Board of Education, I will be a strong voice with innovative ideas to create solutions and will work to keep Fort Collins great. I pledge to work collaboratively for our community.”

In addition to serving on the PSD Board of Education, I have cultivated a wide variety of interests over the years and served our community in many capacities.

PROJECT SMILE -  For several years I was on the committee that planned and presented the annual fundraiser luncheon and I volunteered at the dental/vision screenings at our PSD schools.

PSD FOUNDATION BOARD - I am chairman of the Recognition Committee.   We plan the annual Excellence in Education Awards Dinner to honor teachers in PSD.

ROTARY CLUB OF FORT COLLINS - I am chairman of the Scholarship Committee.  We screen and interview seniors from PSD schools who plan to attend either CSU or Front Range Community College.  We award ten scholarships annually.

LARIMER COUNTY ELECTIONS -  For the past ten years, I have worked as a judge for the Larimer County Election Centers.  The most exciting thing about this experience is watching our young people exercise their civic right and cast their ballot for the very first time!

MUSEO DE LAS TRES COLONIAS - I serve on the newly-formed executive board that reclaimed the Romero House for the purpose of preserving the artifacts  and interpreting the history from the sugar beet industry in Fort Collins’ formative years. The Museo also serves as a vehicle for celebrating the rich Hispanic culture in our community.  We work hand-in-hand with the City of Fort Collins, PSD (especially Fort Collins High School) and CSU to rebuild and maintain the Museo de Las Tres Colonias. In addition to our Re-Grand Opening, we have already celebrated Cinco de Mayo and Las Posadas at the Museo and we have plans for so much more.  Our events have been well-attended by residents from all corners of Fort Collins.

LARIMER HUMANE SOCIETY - I was, for many years, chairman of the Food Committee that secured donations of  snacks and beverages from local businesses and provided them for the runners at the Fire Hydrant 5 fundraiser.  I have continued my work on the Silent Auction Committee that collects donated items to be auctioned at our biggest fundraiser:  Top Cat and Tails.
